Carroll senior forward Natalie Gricius has been named the CCIW Women's Basketball Player of the Week after delivering two dominant performances that propelled the Pioneers to a pair of non-conference victories.
Gricius opened the week with a strong showing in a 73-52 win over UChicago, scoring 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 2-of-5 from three-point range, while adding 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. She followed that effort with a historic outing against Ripon, erupting for a career-high 39 points in an 86-74 victory. In that game, she shot an incredible 15-of-18 from the field, went 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, and converted 7-of-9 at the free-throw line, while also pulling down 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Across the two contests, Gricius averaged 30.5 points and 7.5 rebounds, shooting over 70% from the floor and showcasing her ability to score at all levels. Her efficiency and leadership have been key to Carroll's early-season success, and she now leads the CCIW in scoring, cementing her status as one of the premier players in the conference.
