FINAL RESULTS
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Carroll's men's golf team began their 2025 season over the weekend at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational, which is the largest golf tournament in the NCAA, across all divisions, this season. After finishing in a tie for 27th place after Friday's first round, the Pioneers placed 34th at the event, which consisted of 38 teams and 228 individuals.
Friday's first round saw the Pioneers shoot a team score of +37, which was tied for 27th place.
Carter Morrison led the way in that first round with a 3-over-par, while Widar Burman Voss and
Ben Book weren't far behind, shooting scores of +4 and +7, respectively.
That rrio finished Saturday's final round as Carroll's top three golfers. Morrison led the way with a two-round +10, which was 85th among individuals, after placing 35th after the first day of competition. Burman Voss was second on the team with a two-round total of +11, while Book finished with a +12. Carroll's team score was rounded out with
Grant Naumann's +20 and
Mathias Werring's +25.
The Pios recorded 98 pars in the two days combined, which was the 22nd-most of any team. They also totaled 10 birdies during the weekend.
Carroll will be in action again on Thursday when they'll compete in the Carthage Firebird Invitational. That event will be held at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, Wis.
