Day One Results
PEORIA, Ill. - Competing at Weaver Ridge Golf Club Thursday, Carroll's men's golf team participated in round one of the three-day College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships. The Pioneers found themselves in eighth place out of the nine competing teams after day one of the tournament, posting a team score of +21, which is just one stroke shy of the seventh-best score.
Carroll finished the round with the second-most pars (57) of any school.
Widar Voss and
Carter Morrison each ranked in the top 10 among individuals with 13 and 12 pars on the day, respectively. The Pios were led by Voss' score of 72, which is even-par, and is tied for eighth among individuals. Morrison had the team's second-best score (+6), ranking 28th on the day.
Grant Naumann and
Mathias Werring weren't far behind with scores of +7 and +8, respectively, while
Charlie Krall rounded out the team score with a +14.
The Pioneers will try to improve their position in the standings on Friday, as they'll compete in day two of the CCIW Championships. That tournament will continue at WeaverRidge Golf Club in Peoria, Ill.
