The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), were announced Tuesday morning, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Carroll saw four student-athletes earn the distinction, with Junior
Makayla Counsell and sophomores
Gracie Niebler,
Natasa Pupovac, and
Katherine Trifilio doing the honors. That quartet was part of a team that finished 11-7 this season, which is the program's most wins in a season in eight years.
An Exercise Science major from Waukesha, Wis., Counsell finished this season with a 10-6 singles record, which was tied for the second-most singles victories on the team. She tied for the team-lead in doubles victories, going 10-8, while playing primarily at the number two flight.
Niebler is a Biology major from Jefferson, Wis. She finished this year with a 6-12 record in singles play, primarily at the number three flight, while going 9-8 in doubles play.
Pupovac, who also earned Second Team All-Conference honors this season, finished the year tied for second on the team in singles victories with a 10-6 record playing at the number one flight. The Biology major from Hales Corners, Wis. also went 10-6 at Carroll's number one doubles position, which was tied for the team lead in doubles victories.
A Nursing major from Oak Park, Ill., Trifilio led the Pioneers with 11 singles victories this year, going 11-7 at the number two flight. She tied for the team lead in doubles victories, going 10-7, while playing primarily with Pupovac at the number one flight.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Voting for the Academic All-America M/W Tennis teams begins May 13, at Noon (ET) and closes Tuesday, May 20, at 11:59 PM (ET).
