FINAL RESULTS
GENEVA, Ohio - Carroll Senior
Maria Falk proved that the third time is the charm Friday afternoon. Competing in the Shot Put at the NCAA Division-III Outdoor Championships for the third consecutive season, Falk finished third to claim her first All-American performance in that event. That will be added to Falk's mantle, which includes an All-American performance in the 2025 NCAA D-III Indoor Championships, finishing eighth in the Indoor Shot Put in March. Her latest performance marked the fifth NCAA Championship entry of Falk's career.
Falk entered Friday's meet as the number two seed in the nation, having broken Carroll's program record with a throw of 14.89m (48-10.25) at the Augustana (IL) "Last Chance" meet just a couple weeks ago.
A native of Oshkosh, Wis., Falk's best throw at Friday's Outdoor Nationals came on her first attempt (14.63m/48-00). That distance proved to be good for third place when all was said and done, just four inches shy of the national runner-up. The winner of the event, MIT's Alexis Boykin, set a Division-III and meet record with a throw of 16.80m (55-01.50).
