Rock Island, Ill. – Both the Pioneer Men's and Women's Golf teams had strong showings in their inaugural rounds of the 2025-26 season at the Viking Fall Invite.
Men's golf finished 10
th overall with a +22 total score. The Pioneers were headlined by
Carter Morrison, from Wisconsin Rapids, WI, who finished 9
th in the player pool. Morrison finished his first round at +1, but in the second round, he finished with a spectacular -3, leaving him with a final -2 score. Another standout was freshman
Jonah Keck, making his Pioneer debut. Keck, hailing from DeKalb, Ill., shot a -1 in his first round and finished in 27
th with a final score of +3. Men's Golf is back in action on Friday, September 5
th at the Judson Fall Invite in West Dundee, Ill.
Women's golf finished in 7
th overall with a +112 score. All four Pioneer ladies broke 90 this weekend, which has not happened since the 2023-24 season. Junior
Tessa Lawson, from Rockford, Ill., lead the way for the Pioneers with a +24 score.
Lynea Sekany and
Lauren Lostetter followed up close behind with +26 and +28, respectively. Women's Golf is back in action on Wednesday, September 3
