Carroll Women's Lacrosse Takes Home Two CCIW Honors; Tumilty Defensive Player of the Week, Wang Offensive

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Carroll Women's Lacrosse took home both the offensive and defensive player of the week honors for the CCIW conference this week, with Grace Tumilty taking the defensive side and Elizabeth Wang taking the offensive side as both had dominant displays this week.

Grace Tumilty – Defensive Player of the Week

Grace Tumilty was named CCIW Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring Carroll's defensive effort in wins over Marian and Aurora. Tumilty played a pivotal role in limiting both opponents' offensive opportunities, helping the Pioneers hold Marian to just two goals and Aurora to four goals across the two contests.

Against Marian on Feb. 25, Tumilty recorded eight ground balls and seven caused turnovers while adding a draw control, consistently disrupting possessions and forcing turnovers throughout the field. She followed with another standout defensive performance against Aurora on Feb. 28, tallying nine ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, which is a new Carroll single game record, and four draw controls. Her ability to pressure ball carriers, win loose balls, and transition play quickly allowed Carroll to maintain control of tempo and possession in both games.

Tumilty's combined efforts were instrumental in Carroll forcing a high number of turnovers and limiting clean offensive sets from its opponents. Her consistency, physicality, and impact on every defensive possession earned her conference recognition as the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week.

Elizabeth Wang – Offensive Player of the Week

Elizabeth Wang earned CCIW Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading Carroll's attack in a pair of convincing wins over Marian and Aurora. Wang totaled six goals and five assists across the two games, finishing the week with 11 points while playing a central role in the Pioneers' offensive efficiency.

In Carroll's 16–2 win over Marian on Feb. 25, Wang posted two goals and three assists, contributing to scoring runs in both the first and second quarters as Carroll built an early lead. She followed with a dominant performance against Aurora on Feb. 28, scoring four goals and adding two assists in a 14–4 victory. Wang was effective both as a finisher and facilitator, creating opportunities in settled offense and during transition.

Across the week, Wang consistently generated scoring chances, recorded multiple points in each contest, and helped Carroll maintain a balanced and productive offensive attack. Her ability to impact games as both a scorer and playmaker earned her conference recognition as the CCIW Offensive Player of the Week.
