Carroll junior Daniel Ezcurra has been voted College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Ezcurra, a junior from Bilbao, Spain, piled up four victories in CCIW duals last week for the Pioneers. 
 
At number one doubles, Ezcurra played with Adrian Gomez to defeat Wheaton's Cody Ching and Tim Steiner last Friday, 8-7. Ezcurra and Gomez also won versus Arthur Hermange and David Larraga of Augustana on Sunday, 8-3.
 
In Friday's dual with Augustana, Ezcurra won in straight sets versus Steiner at number two singles, 6-3, 6-2. Ezcurra also bested Larraga on Sunday, 6-2, 0-6, 6-2, to help the Pios clip the Vikings, 5-4.
