WHITEWATER, Wis. – Carroll men's tennis turned in several bright individual performances on Saturday despite falling 6–1 to a very strong UW-Whitewater squad, one of the premier Division III programs in the country. The Pioneers battled well across courts and earned standout wins in both the No. 2 doubles and No. 2 singles positions.

Carroll's strongest early highlight came at No. 2 doubles, where the pairing of Felix Persson and Layton Carlssecured an impressive 6–3 victory.The Pioneers showed clean net play and consistent returns to grab one of the match's most competitive doubles results. At the top line, Andrew LaBelle and Ryan LaBelle faced a strong Warhawk duo and fell 1–6, while No. 3 doubles also went the Warhawks' way, leaving Carroll trailing 1–2 entering singles. 

In singles, the Pioneers' best result came from No. 2 singles, where Ryan LaBelle delivered a commanding 6–2, 6–2 win. LaBelle's performance was one of Carroll's strongest of the day, marked by steady baseline pressure and timely first-serve accuracy. 

At No. 1 singles, Andrew LaBelle drew one of the region's top Division III players in, a matchup that provided valuable competitive experience. LaBelle battled well in extended rallies before falling 1–6, 3–6 against the nationally elite Warhawk standout.

UW-Whitewater secured wins on courts 3, 4, 5, and 6 to close out the match, but Carroll leaves with several positive takeaways—including a quality doubles win, a dominant singles performance on court two, and strong competitive stretches on courts one and four.

The Pioneers will return to action on February 7th and 8th as they travel to Minnesota to continue non-conference play against Carelton and St. Olaf as they look to build on Saturday's bright individual results.
