Carroll’s Reed Breckheimer Named to AFCA Division III Coaches’ All America First Team

Carroll University senior tight end Reed Breckheimer has been selected to the 2025 AFCA Division III Coaches' All-America First Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced Wednesday.

Breckheimer is just the second Carroll AFCA Division III Coaches' All-American First Teamer in program history, with the other coming in 2015.

Breckheimer, a 6-foot-1, 250-pound senior from Hilbert, Wisconsin (Hilbert HS), earned the First-Team nod at tight end, representing Carroll (Wis.) under head coach Mike Budziszewski. He added to his collection of awards this year, has he already was named 1st Team All-Conference for the CCIW at TE.

In 10 games, Breckheimer caught 46 passes for 488 yards and one touchdown, rushed 49 times for 308 yards and nine touchdowns, and completed 3 of 4 passes for 38 yards, accounting for 60 points on the season and showcasing his jack-of-all trades abilities.

AFCA has named All-America teams since 1945 and currently selects teams across five divisions, including Division III. The AFCA's Division III All-America Selection Committee is made up of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA's seven districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman on which the team is chosen.
