Brad Guettel was a stand-out athlete in football, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field; he attended Carroll from 1997-2001.  He was a two-time all-American for the Pioneers football team and a three-time national qualifier in track and field.  In football, Guettel was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Year in 2000 and 2001, while also garnering first-team all-conference and all-region honors.  He was named return specialist all-American by Hewlett Packard and USA Football in 2000 and finished the season ranked No. 11 in the country in kick return average (28 yards).  In 2001, Guettel was named all-American by D3football.com, Hewlett Packard and Don Hansen’s Football Gazette.  He finished 2001 ranked No. 2 in the country in punt return average (24.3 yards) and No. 18 in kick return average (26 yards).  Following his senior year in football, Guettel participated in the College Bowl All-Star Game and was voted Most Valuable Player after scoring two touchdowns (one receiving, one punt return).  He finished his Carroll track and field career as an 11-time Midwest Conference Champion and earned more than 30 all-conference honors.  He was also part of several record-breaking relay teams.  Following his time at Carroll, Guettel was an assistant coach for the Carroll track and field program from 2002-2012.
