Carroll Athletics Highlights: Varsity letters: basketball (1), football (3), track (4). Led his 1947 team in ground-gaining stats with 6.6 yards and 6.1 yards in 1948. Earned four letters in track, for his shot-put and javelin events. Held javelin records at Ripon, Lawrence and Milwaukee State Teacher’s College as well as Carroll. In the Javelin-Beloit Relays he won the 1946 silver medal, 1947 silver medal and 1949 gold medal. At the Javelin-Central Collegiate Conference he received a bronze medal in 1947 and a silver medal in 1948. He was awarded the gold medal in the 1948 Javelin-Elmhurst Intercollegiate Invite.
