Carroll Athletics Highlights: Varsity letters: cross-country (4), track (4). Named the Most Valuable Runner in cross-country and received the McCormick Memorial Trophy in 1973 and 1974. Team captain 1973-74. Captain of the track team in 1975. Very successful high school coach. Head women’s track coach at Waukesha North High School from 1976-93, and at Waukesha West from 1994 to present. In 1985, 2000 and 2001, he was the Track District Coach of the Year. Head Women’s Cross-Country Coach of the Year in 1996, 1997 and 2003. Wisconsin Cross-Country Division 1 Coach of the Year in 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. Inducted into the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame for the class of 2003. His teams have won eight State Division 1 Championships in cross-country, in 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005. Four State Division I Championships in Track, in 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 1985 and 2003 achieved runner-up state titles in track, and for cross-country in 1997 and 2002.
