William Lueder was a workhorse for the Pioneers football team from 1952-1956.  Lueder started every game of his career and played on the offensive and defensive lines for his years at Carroll.  He was a highly respected teammate and was voted team captain.  Lueder earned the team’s Most Valuable Player award as well as Little All-American honors.  Additionally, Lueder had the opportunity to try out for the Baltimore Colts.  He was also a member of the basketball team for two years.  In his freshman year, he scored 27 points against an All-American center from the University of Rio Grande.    He joined the high school coaching ranks at Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wis., where he built a championship basketball team.  He then enjoyed a successful career serving as head football coach for 18 years and also coached basketball, wrestling and volleyball in Montello, Wis., where he has been a strong community leader.
